These Campaign Terms and Conditions govern the SMS notification programs operated by 1212.tech. They supplement our general Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and the SMS-specific SMS Opt-In Privacy Policy. By opting in to receive SMS notifications from 1212.tech, you agree to the terms set out below.
1212.tech operates SMS notification programs on behalf of churches and ministry organizations that use 1212.tech to coordinate volunteer service. The programs deliver: (a) shift reminders sent in advance of scheduled volunteer assignments; (b) schedule updates when an event is changed or cancelled; (c) swap-fill outreach when a volunteer with an open shift can be replaced from the waitlist; (d) milestone acknowledgments when a volunteer reaches a service milestone; (e) burnout-watch alerts to coordinators when a volunteer shows signs of fatigue; (f) announcement blasts initiated by a coordinator to a defined segment of volunteers (for example, the entire Worship Team, or all volunteers scheduled for a particular Sunday) — each announcement is a single send, not a recurring campaign; and (g) operational administrative messages to coordinators. A church may also run a keyword opt-in program, in which a volunteer texts a designated keyword (for example, SERVE) to a designated short code or 10-digit long code to enroll; the keyword program is operated by 1212.tech on behalf of the church and is governed by these same terms.
Enrollment in any 1212.tech SMS program requires affirmative opt-in. Opt-in is captured and timestamped through one of the following channels: (a) an in-app checkbox in the volunteer's notification preferences; (b) a coordinator-initiated enablement accompanied by the volunteer's separate affirmative consent (recorded in the audit log); (c) a written request from the volunteer to their coordinator; or (d) a keyword opt-in, in which the volunteer texts the designated keyword to the program's short code or long code and receives a one-time confirmation message. Pre-checked boxes, inferred consent, and passive enrollment are not used. For keyword opt-in, double opt-in is required: the first inbound text records the opt-in; the second message (the confirmation) repeats program details, opt-out instructions (STOP), and help instructions (HELP). We retain the opt-in record (timestamp, channel, and where applicable keyword used) for the duration of your enrollment and for a minimum of four years after opt-out.
Message frequency varies by role, activity, and time of year. A typical active volunteer may receive up to four (4) SMS messages per week during periods of regular service, and zero during quiet weeks. Coordinators may receive additional administrative SMS messages related to their coordination role. High-activity periods (for example, holiday services) may temporarily exceed the typical frequency. We do not commit to a fixed upper limit, but we commit that SMS will be used for genuine notifications only and never for unsolicited marketing or promotional campaigns.
Message and data rates may apply to each SMS you receive. Standard messaging and data charges from your mobile carrier are billed by your carrier under your service agreement with them. 1212.tech does not charge for sending SMS messages and does not collect any revenue from your carrier in connection with these messages. Please consult your carrier's terms for details on the rates applicable to your plan.
1212.tech SMS is delivered through Twilio and is supported on all major U.S. and Canadian carriers and most international carriers reachable through Twilio's standard routes. SMS is delivered as standard text messages (GSM 7-bit alphabet where possible, UCS-2 for messages containing characters outside the GSM set). Multimedia (MMS) messages are not used. We do not currently support RCS; if we add RCS support, we will update this policy before sending any RCS message.
For help at any time, reply HELP to any SMS you receive from us, or email support@1212.tech. We will respond to email support requests within one business day. Reply HELP for in-message instructions to repeat key program details (program name, contact information, opt-out instructions, frequency disclosure).
You may opt out of any or all 1212.tech SMS programs at any time. To opt out, reply STOP to any SMS you receive from us, or disable SMS in your 1212.tech notification preferences, or email support@1212.tech with a request to opt out. We honor opt-out immediately upon receipt — typically within one minute for replies and within one business day for written requests. After opt-out, you will not receive further SMS messages from us except for one final confirmation that your opt-out has been processed. Opting out of SMS does not affect your email notifications or your 1212.tech account.
There is no cost from 1212.tech for receiving SMS notifications. Your only cost is the standard message and data charges billed by your mobile carrier under your service agreement with them. We do not add any markup, surcharge, or premium charge.
Your mobile number is collected, used, and retained under the terms set out in our SMS Opt-In Privacy Policy at /legal/sms-privacy. We do not share your mobile number with any third party for marketing or promotional purposes. The only third parties that receive your mobile number are Twilio (our contracted SMS delivery vendor) and the underlying carriers that route the message to your device.
1212.tech SMS programs are intended for adults aged 18 and older who have authority to consent to receive SMS at the number provided. By opting in, you represent that you are at least 18 years old and that you are the subscriber or customary user of the mobile number provided, or that you have the subscriber's authorization.
You agree not to use 1212.tech SMS programs to send unlawful, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or obscene content; not to impersonate any person or entity; and not to interfere with or disrupt the SMS delivery infrastructure. Coordinators who misuse 1212.tech SMS programs are subject to account suspension per our general Terms of Service.
Carriers (including but not limited to AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Sprint) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. 1212.tech delivers messages through Twilio using standard application-to-person (A2P) routes. Carriers may, at their discretion, filter, block, or delay any message they determine to be inconsistent with their acceptable-use policies. We do not control carrier filtering and cannot guarantee message delivery.
We may update these Campaign Terms and Conditions from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page. We do not provide separate SMS notice for terms changes; the standard change-notification process applies. Continued receipt of SMS notifications after a posted change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not accept the updated terms, your remedy is to opt out of SMS notifications.
